The star cast and crew of the upcoming Bollywood political thriller Shanghai, including actor Emraan Hashmi, released the music album of their film.Hashmi, who plays the character of Joginder Parmar, a porn filmmaker in the movie, said that he had to do a lot of homework to play his character with perfection. He credited the director of the film, Dibakar Banerjee, for having etched out a role which he has never played in his nine-year old career.Dibakar conceived this look, he wanted a character that is very rooted, I had to go through hell everyday for an hour to get into the character of Jogi Parmar. This is the first time that we had so many workshops to prepare for this character, but what has come out of it in the film is something that has to be seen to be believed. Dibakar has really changed and given me the kind of makeover that I have wanted for a long time, said Hashmi.According to media reports, Hashmi has gained nine to ten kilograms for this role.On the other hand, Banerjee said that it was a dream comes true for him to share the stage with Bollywood bigwigs, adding that the music of the youth has already struck a chord with the audience.First of all, I cant believe this, it feels more like a dream to stand on a stage with stars, because I am also similar to people who look out for stars in the mall, I also look out for stars and standing on this stage is like a dream come true that I have my films music launch, it is such a big release, its so big, the music, its appeal, the way Bharat Mata is catching on and there are some surprises for all of you that after Bharat Mata, two of our other songs are going to be aired from next week onwards, said Banerjee.Musician duo, Vishal and Shekhar, who have composed the music of the film said that they were elated to be associated with such an honest endeavour and described their music to be unconventional and in accordance with the script.
