KARACHI (Dunya News) – Two people were killed when two groups exchanged fire after a brief altercation over an unknown issue, Dunya News reported on Sunday.

The incident took place in Itehad Town, near Muhammad Khan Chowki. Those involved in the double murder fled the scene after committing the crime.

Having being informed, police reached the spot and started investigation into the matter.

An initial report revealed that two groups of people of the area had a scuffle over an issue which turned bloody when they took out their weapons and started indiscriminate firing on one another.

As a result, the bloody feud claimed two lives. Those who lost their lives in the gun battle could not be identified.

The law enforcers have launched a search operation for tracking down the people involved in murder of two people.

Police have started collecting forensic evidence and recording statements from the area people in order to have a clue about the fleeing perpetrators.

Police said CCTV footages have been taken with the help of those photos they would reach the criminals.

Panic and chaos swept through the vicinity after the gruesome murder of two people. Police have cordoned off the area and stepped up the security to restore peace and confidence of the locals. The dead bodies were sent off to hospital for autopsy.
