Ex-PTI MPA's brother, nephew shot dead in Karachi

KARACHI (Dunya News) - Two persons were killed and as many others injured after unidentified people opened fire on the vehicle of an MPA's brother in Phase 7 of the Defence Housing Authority (DHA) on Wednesday. 

Police said 67-year-old Akram Abro, a member of the Sindh Bar Council, and his son Shaharyar Abro lost their lives. The suspects targeted the vehicle of ex-MPA Aslam Abro's brother. Aslam Abro had recently defected from the PTI. 

The suspects opened indiscriminate fire and fled the scene. The victims were heading to Jacobabad at the time of the incident.

The dead and the injured were shifted to a nearby hospital. Police and forensic teams arrived at the crime scene and lifted necessary evidence. 

Preliminary police investigations showed that the suspects sprayed the vehicle from three sides as at least 30 empty shells were found at the crime scene.  

Police said the motive behind the shooting is not yet known.

The Sindh Bar Council strogly condemned the brutal act of Abro's murder. Moreover, Governor Sindh Kamran Tessori also grieved over the dual murder and ordered Add. IG to formulate a report on the incident.
