ISLAMABAD (Web Desk) – Federal police personnel were involved in extortion by keeping the citizens in custody.
IG Islamabad Muhammad Ahsan Younas has taken stern notice against the police officials for keeping citizens in custody and taking money from them. A case has been registered against the four policemen at Tarnol police station while one officer was arrested.
The citizens had filed the petition in the open court of IG Islamabad. According to the report by a citizen Irfan Ullah, he was on his way to Murree from Peshawar with his friends on December 13, 2021. Four police officials have stopped them on Sangjani Toll Plaza. The uniformed police officers had taken them to sector-G flat 15. The officials took an amount of Rs. 1 million for their release. Raids are being carried out to arrest 3 underground officers.
