Unidentified persons fired shots at a traffic warden Kashif who succumbed to his injuries in Manawan

 

 LAHORE (Dunya News) – Unidentified persons fired shots at a traffic warden in Manawan area of the city.

The warden identified as Kashif succumbed to his injuries.

Police, after receiving the report, reached the spot and shifted the body to morgue for autopsy and registered a case

Inspector General (IG) Punjab Rao Sardar Ali Khan took notice of the incident and ordered Capital City Police Officer (CCPO) Lahore to submit a report on the incident.

Few days back a similar incident occurred in Lahore when a car driver opened fire at a traffic warden who had demanded to show license.

According to details, the incident took place at Ferozpur Road where the traffic warden, Mukhtar demanded driving licence of the driver. Filled with rage, the driver came out of car and opened fire. The traffic wardens ran away from the site in order to save their lives.

Following the CCTV footage of the incident, a legal proceeding was initiated against the suspect.

CCPO said that the security of traffic police personnel’s lives and property is department’s top priority, and no one will be allowed to take law in his hands.
