Police foils bid to smuggle drugs to Bahawalpur, arrests nine
AHMADPUR SHARQIYA (Dunya News) - Nowshera Jadeed Police Station in a successful operation foiled an attempt to smuggle drugs from Quetta to Bahawalpur, arrested 9 members of an inter-provincial drug dealer gang and recovered more than 160kg hashish.
DSP Ahmadpur Sharqiyah Chaudhry Bakhtiar Ahmed while addressing a press conference along with SHO Nowshera Jadeed Muslim Zia said that Nowshera Jadeed Police arrested Nasruddin, the ringleader of inter-provincial drug dealer gang, a resident of Pishin area of Balochistan and his accomplices, Ajmal, Mukhtiar, Allah Ditta, Madni, Hebat, Sakhawat, Nafees and recovered more than 160kg of Hashish from their possession.
He said that the accused were smuggling drugs from Quetta on a truck and car to Bahawalpur and other parts of Punjab when the police foiled the attempt and also seized the truck and car.
DPO Bahawalpur Hassan Mushtaq Sukhera and DSP Chaudhry Bakhtiar Ahmed have paid tribute to the police for their excellent performance.
