Man injured during robbery at jewellers shop in Islamabad
ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) - A man was seriously injured by armed robbers during robbery at a jewellers store in Melody Market an area of Islamabad. The robbers, disguised as beggars, easily escaped in a car with their accomplices.
According to eyewitnesses, two robbers disguised as beggars entered the gold shop and took out weapons. When the security guard opened fire from the counter, the robbers also opened fire indiscriminately.
A young man working in a shop was seriously injured in the firing and has been shifted to hospital.
After the shooting, the robbers, along with three other accomplices, easily escaped in a white car.
It may be recalled that earlier this month, the biggest robbery in history took place at a jeweller s shop in a supermarket located within the limits of Kohsar police station. The robbers fled after stealing gold and cash worth Rs45.8 million.
Another robbery took place in a shop in Sector F-10 within the limits of Shalimar police station last night and Nasir Asghar, a serving officer of the intelligence agency, was killed for resisting.
