Owner of Dr Maha's suicide weapon identified

KARACHI (Dunya News) – In a significant development in Dr Maha’s suicide case, the police have traced down the owner of the weapon used by the victim.

According to details, Dr Maha worked at a private hospital in Karachi and was also a blogger. She committed suicide earlier this week in her home and now, the suicide weapon has been traced to a person named Saad Naseer, who had bought the firearm from Bashir Khan Trading Company in 2010.

According to the police, the pistol had arrived in Balochistan from abroad and now they are searching the owner, Saad Naseer. An investigation has also been launched into Saad’s connection with Dr Maha.

On the other hand, the police have recorded the statement of Junaid, a close friend of Dr Maha Ali. He said that the two planned to get married soon, adding that he used to pick and drop Maha to work everyday, however, Maha told him not to come the day she committed suicide.

Junaid said in his statement that he had been in contact with Maha for the past 4 years. He said that she was suffering from depression due to domestic problems and often had quarrels with her parents.
