PML-N leader kills niece for 'honour'

GUJRANWALA (Dunya News) – In yet another appalling incident of violence against women, Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz’s (PML-N) leader Zahid Anayat Butt on Saturday killed his niece Laika for ‘honour’.
The incident occurred in Gujranwala.
As per details garnered, the ill-fated Laika wanted to marry person of her choice. However, Zahid Butt along with his brother killed the ill-fated girl with bullets. Latter, the culprits buried the girl in the wee hours of Sunday in bid to hide their crime.
Police have lodged case against the local PML-N’s leader and his brother. The hunt for arrest of the culprits is underway.
In a similar incident few days ago, two ill-fated girls were first abducted and raped by an influential landlord and when the victims returned home, their uncle killed them to ‘restore honour’.
The incident occurred in Jamaluddin Wali area of Sadiqabad.
The father of the ill-fated sisters stated that an influential landlord abducted his daughters Naheed and Bisma and raped them. “The accused released them on Sunday night”, the father was quoted as saying.
