Summary Homicides are down 6.8 percent from the end of November 2013.
NEW YORK (AP) - Mayor Bill de Blasio and Police Commissioner William Bratton say crime continues to fall in New York City.
They said Tuesday that overall crime is down 4.4 percent from this time a year ago.
Homicides are down 6.8 percent from the end of November 2013.
De Blasio said the city had its safest August-to-November period since at least 1994.
He and Bratton touted the crime reduction and police reforms as the city braces for the grand jury s decision on whether to indict any officers in a chokehold death.
Eric Garner, who was unarmed, died in a police chokehold in July after being arrested.
Bratton said the grand jury is expected to reach a decision this week on an indictment
