Bangladesh opted to field first against Pakistan in first T20I
DHAKA (Dunya News) - Bangladesh defeated Pakistan by 7 wickets in the opening match of the three-match T20I series.
Chasing a modest target of 111 runs, Bangladesh reached the total in just 15.3 overs, losing only three wickets. Parvez Hossain Emon remained unbeaten on 56 runs.
Earlier in Dhaka, Bangladesh captain Liton Das won the toss and invited Pakistan to bat first. The Pakistani batting lineup collapsed under pressure from the Bangladeshi bowlers, managing only 110 runs in 19.3 overs. Fakhar Zaman was the top scorer for Pakistan with 44 runs.
Pakistan’s innings began with openers Fakhar Zaman and Saim Ayub, but the partnership didn't last long as Saim was dismissed for just 6 runs. After the opening stand broke, a string of quick wickets followed — Mohammad Haris (4), captain Salman Ali Agha (3), and Hassan Nawaz (0) all fell cheaply.
Other contributions included Mohammad Nawaz (3), Khushdil Shah (17), Abbas Afridi (22), Faheem Ashraf (5), and Salman Mirza who was dismissed without scoring.
For Bangladesh, Taskin Ahmed took 3 wickets, Mustafizur Rahman claimed 2, while Tanzim Hasan and Mehidy Hasan picked up one wicket each. Additionally, three Pakistani players were run out.
