Pakistan to face West Indies in first T20 in Karachi today
KARACHI (Dunya News) – The first Twenty20 of three-match series between Pakistan and West Indies will be played in Karachi today (Monday).
The match will start at 06:00 pm (Pakistan Standard Time).
Earlier, Covid-19 tests of three key players and a coaching staff of the West Indies team came out positive, after which they were ruled out of the series.
Left-arm pacer Sheldon Cottrell, all-rounders Roston Chase and Kyle Mayers, along with a non-coaching member of the team management unit returned positive tests in Karachi.
The Windies will play three Twenty20 and three one-day internationals all in the port city of Karachi, their first visit since 2018. The three T20Is are on December 13, 14 and 16, while the ODIs will be on December 18, 20 and 22.
The cricket-mad nation endured a long spell without a visit from an international team following a terror attack on a bus carrying the Sri Lankan team in Lahore in 2009.
