(Web Desk) – Essex Cricket welcomed Mohammad Amir to the club in a tweet that was posted late Monday.
Amir’s performance after he was included back into the squad following a five-year ban over fixing scandal in a series against England, has been consistently exceptional.
Announcement of the Essex Cricket has come in after Pakistan outplayed India on Sunday to win Champions Trophy for the first time in tournament s history.
The young cricketer who debuted in the international cricket at the age of 18 was jailed among three Pakistani players by a British court in 2011.
Official Twitter handle of the club stated in a message posted recently: “Welcome @iamamirofficial! #AmirIsHere”. Amir had signed a contract with the club in 2016 it was announced then that he would be playing in 2017.
"I am very excited about becoming part of the Essex family," Amir told the Essex website then.
"(Head coach) Chris Silverwood and (chairman) Ronnie Irani have both been very supportive over the summer. I m hoping I can carry on Essex s success this season and achieve more for the club in 2017."
