Summary India won the toss and decided to field first in the second semifinal of the ICC Champions Trophy
BIRMINGHAM (Dunya News) – After being asked to bat first in the second semi-final of ICC Champions Trophy 2017 at Edgbaston, Bangladesh were able to score 264 in the allotted overs as both the veteran i.e., Tamim Iqbal and Mushfiqur Rahim were able to score 70 and 61 respectively to help their side in putting a decent total on the board.
Earlier, India won the toss and decided to field first in the second semifinal of the ICC Champions Trophy against Bangladesh on a fresh looking wicket.
The toss was slightly delayed by light drizzle, therefore, the match also started 10 minutes late at 02:40 PM (PST) at the Edgbast Cricket Ground. The winners of this semifinal will face Pakistan in the final on Sunday at The Oval.
India skipper Virat Kohli said after winning the toss that it looks like a fresh wicket, should stay the same throughout. It s a bit overcast as well - that could play a big role, he said. India have made no change in their team.
Bangladesh captain Mashrafe said he would have liked to bowl too. He added that we want to go further, last 2-3 years we have improved a lot. 2015 World Cup also we went through (the group), this time it s time to go further, he said. Bangladesh are unchanged as well.

While chasing the target of 265, the Indian opners seemed to in no pressure whatsoever right from the outset.
Dhawan took the charge in the second over as he thumped Mustafizur Rahman for two consecutive boundaries in the over.
Mustafizur Rahman went for punishment again in the fourth over as Sharman thumped him for three boundaries this time.
Rohit Sharma took the charge in the fifth as he flicked the ball towards midwicket for another boundary.
India were 31 for no loss after the first five overs.

Overs 50: Bangladesh 264/7
Mosaddek Hossain departed in the 43rd over as he was caught by Bumrah of his own bowling.
Bumrah came back strongly in the forty fifth over as he cleaned up Mahmudullah as bangladesh lose their seventh wicket and the progress was halted to some extent.
Mashrafe Mortaza in an effort to smash the ball was able to fetch four runs as the ball sailed over the keeper’s head for four more.

Bangladesh were 231 for the loss of seven wickets after 46 overs.
In the forty seventh over an inside edge of Mashrafe Mortaza’s bat flies past Dhoni and raced away towards the boundary for four more.
Taskin also managed to fetch valuable four runs as an inside edge of his bat raced towards the boundary for four more.

Mashrafe Mortaza took the charge in the next over of Bumrah as two consecutve boundaries of the first two deliveries came in the next over.
A total of 10 runs came of the second last over bowled by Bumrah.
Kumar came to bowl the last over as he bowled a good over and conceded just six runs.

Mosaddek Hossain spoiled a good over from Jadeja as he cut it behind exceptionally well for four more.
In the thirty ninth over, Ashwin dropped a catch of Mahmudullah as the ball flied towards the third-man and fetched four runs as the spinner wasn’t been able to get a hold on it.

In the fortieth over when one of Dhoni s gloves was on the ground and the throw hit it as Bangladesh was awarded five penalty runs.

Shakib too failed to make an impression as he was caught by Dhoni of the bowling of Jadeja after scoring 15 runs.
Bangladesh lost their fourth wicket when the score was 177.

The frustrations for Bangladesh further enhanced when Mushfiqur Rahim also departed in the very next over and was caught by the skipper of the bowling of Jadhav.

The dangerous Tamim showed Ashwin the lesson for the game as he thumped three consecutive boundaries of his bowling in the twenty second over.

Both the batsmen were moving along quite well as Bangladesh were in a comffortable position at half-way stage.

Mushfiqur Rahim reached to his fifty in the twenty seventh over of the game as he batted really exceptionally so far in the game.
Bangladesh suffer a huge blow when the backbone of their batting line departed in the twenty eighth over while missing a slog-sweep of the bowling of Jadhav.
