Summary "Coming from Edgbaston, it was a big jump in pace and bounce"

(Web Desk) – English are known to be a respectable and dignified side when it comes to cricket however, Eoin Morgan’s recent sore-losing statement to desperately steal Pakistan’s thunder after an eight-wicket win has got him flak and rightfully so.

English skipper observed post the match that Pakistan were used to the pitch in Cardiff as they had played Sri Lanka only two days before there.

Coming from Edgbaston, it was a big jump in pace and bounce and English players could not adjust, he added.

Morgan’s comments about the pitch following the match did not go down well with some cricketers including Waqar Younis and Nasser Hussain.

Waqar Younis lambasted Morgan for putting forth a “lame excuse” after a battle won “fair and square” by the green shirts.

Nasser Hussain has branded the statement “disrespectful” to the winning Pakistani side. Hussain lamented England s timid play, which he said was in marked contrast to the way they had revived their ODI fortunes since a woeful first-round exit at the 2015 World Cup.

This was anything but smart. In fact, it was timid, Hussain said.

The match on June 14 saw English batting line get completely destroyed by some really fine bowling from Pakistani bowlers as the entire team got out for 211 in 49.5 overs.

Pakistan were 100 up within 20 overs with no loss which was the Champions Trophy 2017 best after a dismal start to the tournament with India loss.

Bangladesh Vs India clash today will decide who Pakistan are meet on Sunday (June 18) at The Oval for the big final.
