HARARE (AFP) - West Indies handed caps to three new players as they began their triangular series campaign with a one-day international against Sri Lanka at Harare Sports Club on Wednesday.
Shai Hope and Ashley Nurse both played their first ODI, while allrounder Rovman Powell made his international debut as the West Indies named a young side from a squad shorn of their senior players.
Chris Gayle, Dwayne Bravo and Kieron Pollard were all missing from their original squad, while batsman Darren Bravo was sent home from the tour over the weekend for comments he made on twitter about West Indies Cricket Board president Dave Cameron.
After beating hosts Zimbabwe by eight wickets in the tournament opener on Monday, Sri Lanka named an unchanged side, with skipper Upul Tharanga winning the toss and electing to bowl first.
