Imran Khan calls for 'merit-based selection' after Pakistan's Asia Cup exit

Khan stated that the cricket lovers' ferocity over Pakistans exit from the tournament is logical.
ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – Former captain and chief of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Imran Khan on Thursday showed disappointment over Pakistan cricket team’s exit from Twenty20 Asia Cup after humiliating defeat by host Bangladesh.
In a statement on social media networking site Twitter, Imran Khan stated that the cricket lovers’ ferocity over Pakistan’s exit from the tournament is logical as the nation is full of talented people but neglected by the authorities.
1. Pakistani cricket fans anger at unceremonious exit of Pak team From T20 Asia Cup is understandable as our nation is oozing with talent.

He said that the talent can only be furnished if Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) selects youngsters and its own selection head on merit basis.
2. However, this talent can only be polished if PCB becomes an institution built on merit, incl selection of its Head purely on merit.

PTI chief strongly criticized incumbent government of Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) and Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif and said how the nation can expect that the PM will select members of PCB’s governing body on merit when there is no system present that follows merit.
3. But how can we expect this PM to select PCB chief on merit when all orgs are being headed by cronies/ppl rewarded for services to Sharifs

Khan suggested that if the current team had played with correct sequence, the victory would have been achieved.
4. Even with the current team, if the correct combinations are played there is enough talent for success.
