MOHALI (AFP) - India defeated South Africa by 108 runs in the first Test in Mohali on Saturday to take the lead in the four-match series.

The tourists, who were set a victory target of 218 runs, crumbled for 109 in the final session of the third day s play at the I. S. Bindra stadium.
