COLOMBO (AFP) - Stand-in West Indies skipper Marlon Samuels won the toss and elected to bat in the second one-day international against Sri Lanka in Colombo on Wednesday.
Samuels was leading the side in the absence of regular captain Jason Holder, serving a one-match ban for a slow over-rate in the opening match on Sunday.
The West Indies brought in Ravi Rampaul and Jermaine Blackwood for the day-night game while Sri Lanka replaced Danushka Gunathilaka with Dinesh Chandimal.
The hosts won the opening one-dayer by one wicket to take the lead in the three-match series.
The third and final one-dayer will be played on Saturday, followed by two Twenty20 games.
Sri Lanka had swept the preceding Test series 2-0.
