Summary Only a formal written conversation is pending, he said

LAHORE (Dunya News) – Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) chairman Shehryar Khan on Friday said that Zimbabwe cricket tour to Pakistan is still on, adding that Zimbabwe board and government have given a green signal. He said a formal written confirmation from the Zimbabwe authorities is pending, Dunya News reported.

Addressing a media conference in Lahore, Khan said that Zimbabwe cricket tour to Pakistan has been salvaged thanks to the dialogue with Zimbabwe authorities and cricket board ongoing since yesterday.

He said Zimbabwe’s yesterday press release about suspension of the tour was retracted shortly afterwards.

Zimbabwe cricket’s website, however, says “there are consultations going on at the moment with relevant authorities,” said ZC chief executive officer Wilfred Mukondiwa, adding: “We do not have a final position as yet.”

Reports poured in on Thursday that Zimbabwe had pulled out of Pakistan tour due to security concerns after Safoora Chowrangi carnage in Karachi that left 46 dead in a bus shooting incident.
