Summary Pakistan has been desperate to regain its status as an international cricket venue.
LAHORE (Dunya News / AFP) – A day after Zimbawbe’s tour to Pakistan hung in the balance, the Zimbabwe Cricket Board has once again expressed willingness to send its team to Pakistan, the PCB sources told.
The PCB sources revealed that final announcement will be made after receiving a written reply from Zimbabwe.
According to The Herald, Pakistani authorities have provided fresh and concrete guarantees that the Zimbabwe cricket team will be provided full-proof security.
Earlier on Friday, Lovemore Banda, the ZC spokesman, issued a rapid apology, saying the abandonment was not confirmed yet.
The tour would be the first by a Test-playing nation since militants attacked the Sri Lankan team s bus in Lahore in 2009.
Zimbabwe are due to arrive on May 19 and play two Twenty20 Internationals on May 22 and 24 and three One-Day Internationals on May 26, 29 and 31. All five matches would be played in the eastern city of Lahore after Zimbabwe refused to play in Karachi.
