Summary Bangladesh not an easy target, will try to perform as good as I can, says Pakistan wicket-keeper
LAHORE: (Daily Dunya) – Pakistan wicket-keeper Sarfraz Ahmed has on Thursday said that he will try to perform as good as possible against Bangladesh while declaring Bengal Tigers as tough opposition, reported Dunya News.
Talking to media at Gaddafi Stadium Lahore, Sarfraz said that the players were working hard in the training camp. He said that the team selected for Bangladesh had an ideal combination while return of players like Fawad Alam, Asad Shafique and Rizwan was a welcome sign. He said that the team wasn’t taking Bangladesh for granted as Bengali Tigers prove to be tough nut to crack at their home ground.
Pakistan T-20 and ODI Vice Captain said that he had good relations with captain Azhar Ali and Azhar wil enjoy complete support from the team. He said that all the players were working hard in the training camp and special attention was being given to fielding.
Responding to a question, Sarfraz Ahmed said that he would be ready to bat at any position, including at the start of the innings. He said that he would abide by the decision of the team-management in this regard. “All the players will have to give their 100% in order to beat Bangladesh. I have no fitness problem and I am completely focused at performing well as wicket-keeper and batsman against Bangladesh to win the series for Pakistan”, said Sarfraz.
Answering the question regarding backup wicket-keeper, Sarfraz said that it was a good decision by the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) as it would help Pakistan to sail smoothly in case of emergency. He said that Rizwan’s inclusion in the team will create a healthy competition within the team.
Sarfraz said that he was thankful for being trusted by PCB for being Vice Captain of the team and said that he would try his best to fulfill the hopes of the board in him.
Talking about absence of former captains Misbahul Haq and Shahid Afridi from the tour, Sarfraz said that absence of the senior players would trouble the team but team work can help overcoming the problem.
