UAE wins toss, elects to bat 1st vs defending champion India

PERTH, Australia (AP) - United Arab Emirates won the toss and elected to bat first against defending champion India on Saturday in the Cricket World Cup Pool B match at the WACA.

India is on a roll following wins over Pakistan and South Africa, while United Arab Emirates goes into the game having lost both its previous games.

Swing bowler Bhuvneshwar Kumar makes his first appearance in the tournament for India after recovering from an ankle injury.

He replaces Mohammed Sami in the India lineup that beat South Africa in the last outing at the Melbourne Cricket Ground.
