Pakistan's current account deficit widens by 10pc in July-August
The current account deficit witnessed further widening to $2.7 billion during first two months
(Dunya News) – Pakistan’s current account deficit widened by 10 percent during the first two months of this fiscal year (FY19) compared to corresponding period of last fiscal year (FY18).
According to statistics of Balance of Payment (BoP) issued by State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) on Wednesday, the current account deficit witnessed further widening to $2.7 billion during first two months of current fiscal year as compared with the deficit of $2.477 billion in the corresponding period of the last fiscal year.
The current account deficit during the month of August has on a positive note, fallen down to $600 million, compared to a deficit of $2.17 billion in the month before, i.e. July 2018.
