SHANGHAI (AFP) - Chinese shares were slightly higher on Wednesday morning, the first trading day after a week-long holiday, as the market awaited the release of preliminary manufacturing data for February, dealers said.

The Shenzhen Composite Index, which tracks stocks on China s second exchange, edged up 0.08 percent, or 1.31 points, to 1,612.04.
