KARACHI (Dunya News) – Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX) on Tuesday turned negative, declining 500.35 points to stand at 180,002.09 points amid ongoing tensions between the US and Iran.
The KSE-100 index opened at a level below the previous close and moved between an intraday high of 180,602.44 points and a low of 179,458.65 points. Trading volume stood at 193,008,824 shares during the session.
The KSE-100 had closed at 180,502.44 points in the previous trading session.
A day earlier, the benchmark index recorded a positive session, rising 397.83 points, or 0.22%, to close at 180,502.45 points, compared with 180,104.61 points in the preceding session.
The ready market had witnessed a trading volume of 1.048 billion shares, compared to 891.332 million shares traded in the previous session, while the traded value increased to Rs48.325 billion from Rs36.690 billion. Market capitalisation rose to Rs20.199 trillion from Rs20.130 trillion recorded a day earlier.
Out of 498 companies that traded in the ready market, 197 posted gains, 276 suffered losses, while 25 remained unchanged, reflecting a mixed trend across the market.
