LAHORE (Dunya News) - Lahore High Court Chief Justice Aalia Neelum has become the first chief justice of the court to oversee the filling of all 23 vacant judge positions.
Meanwhile, 10 newly appointed judges of the Lahore High Court took oath of office at a ceremony, with Chief Justice Aalia Neelum administering the oath.

The judges who took oath include Justice Syed Farhad Ali Shah, Justice Amjad Pervaiz, Justice Asad Ali Bajwa, Justice Ghulam Sarwar Nahing, Justice Shireen Imran, Justice Usman Ghani Rashid Cheema, Justice Munawar Dogal, Justice Amir Ajmal Malik, Justice Khalid Ibn Aziz and Justice Ajmal Khan.
A large number of appointments against the 23 vacant judge positions were made during Justice Aalia Neelum’s tenure as chief justice, making her the first LHC chief justice to fill the court’s vacant positions on such a scale.
The appointments of the new judges were approved at a meeting of the Judicial Commission of Pakistan held on July 21 under the chairmanship of the Chief Justice of Pakistan.
