LAHORE (Dunya News) - Federal Minister for Information and Broadcasting Atta Tarar on Sunday said the ruling Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) believes in public service and remains committed to the country's development and prosperity.
Addressing a ceremony in Lahore, Tarar said every party worker was playing a role in advancing national progress. He praised the party's women leaders for prioritising public welfare and thanked PML-N workers for standing by the party during difficult times.
Referring to the Kashmir issue, the minister said Kashmiris remained deeply connected with Pakistan, adding that the slogan, "Kashmir will become Pakistan," reflected their aspirations.
He said the sacrifices made by Kashmiris who had migrated would always be remembered and stressed that their patriotism should not be questioned.
Tarar said the government would resist any attempts to undermine the Kashmir cause and vowed that violence, arson and politics of unrest would not be allowed to succeed. He also described the upcoming elections in Kashmir as highly significant.
The information minister criticised recent remarks by Noreen Niazi, the sister of former prime minister and PTI founder Imran Khan, alleging that some of her statements had been highlighted by Indian media and had generated public concern.
He further alleged that certain political elements were attempting to damage Pakistan's image for political purposes, but said such efforts would ultimately fail.

Tarar also criticised the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), claiming that the party had focused on negative politics instead of addressing public issues in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. He added that what he described as the PTI's politics of confrontation had lost public support.
Concluding his address, the minister said Pakistan's international standing was improving and expressed confidence that the country would continue on its path of economic development and progress.
