Political debate erupts over Noreen Niazi's remarks in YouTube interview

Updated on:

Noreen Niazi's controversial remarks on Pakistan, the military and India spark political debate, drawing criticism from analysts and commentators.

ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – Remarks made by Noreen Niazi, sister of the PTI founder, during a YouTube interview have triggered political debate and drawn criticism from analysts and commentators.

During the interview, Noreen Niazi made a series of claims regarding Operation Marka-e-Haq, the Pakistan Army and India, including allegations that the operation was the result of collusion between Pakistan's armed forces and Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

She also claimed that India did not attack Pakistan at Israel's request because Pakistan was allegedly preparing to recognise Israel. Responding to the remarks, some analysts said the statements crossed a "red line" and served personal interests.

Political commentators and critics described the remarks as irresponsible, arguing that such statements could undermine Pakistan's national narrative and be exploited by Indian media or anti-Pakistan elements.

Some analysts further claimed that the interview contradicted PTI's stated position regarding the armed forces and reflected what they described as inconsistencies in the party's narrative.

Neither Noreen Niazi nor Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) issued an official response or clarification regarding the criticism at the time of reporting.
