Govt to review global fuel price indicators this week: Petroleum minister

Petroleum Minister Ali Pervaiz Malik said global petrol and diesel price trends will be reviewed this week to ensure maximum consumer relief.

ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) –  Federal Petroleum Minister Ali Pervaiz Malik said the government will review international price indicators for petrol and diesel this week to assess possible relief for consumers.

In a statement posted on X (formerly Twitter), the minister said the government is neither prioritizing any particular sector nor placing an unnecessary burden on any segment.

He stressed that the government remains committed to passing on maximum possible benefit to consumers while operating within the framework of its international obligations.

Ali Pervaiz Malik said Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has so far reduced diesel prices by Rs200 per litre and petrol prices by Rs155 per litre.

He added that international price indicators for petrol and diesel will be reviewed during the week before any further decision is taken.
