LAHORE (Dunya News) - The Pakistan Stock Exchange witnessed a sharp downturn on Friday, with heavy selling pressure causing significant losses for investors.
At the start of the last trading session of the week, the benchmark KSE-100 Index dropped by 1,327 points, slipping to 170,393 points.
The bearish trend persisted throughout the session, and by the close of trading, the index had fallen by 1,778 points to settle at 171,115 points.
This decline comes a day after a strong bullish performance, when the KSE-100 Index had surged by 1,189 points to close at 172,894 points.
Market participants attributed the volatility to cautious investor sentiment and broader regional trends.
Meanwhile, other Asian markets also recorded losses. Hong Kong’s Hang Seng Index declined by 1.09 per cent, while South Korea’s KOSPI Index fell by 0.72 per cent.
Japan’s Nikkei 225 dropped by 0.58 per cent, whereas China’s Shanghai Composite Index recorded a decline of 0.43 per cent.
