Summary Planning for a 500MW floating solar project at Keenjhar Lake in Sindh has been completed. The $243 million project aims to boost renewable energy output.

KARACHI (Web Desk) - Planning has been completed for a 500-megawatt floating solar power project in the country aimed at promoting renewable energy and reducing reliance on imported fossil fuels.

The 500MW floating solar power project will be established at Keenjhar Lake in Sindh, with authorities finalising the planning phase for the major energy initiative.

The project is intended to strengthen the country’s renewable energy sector while helping lower dependence on imported fuel resources.

Nepra licence made mandatory for solar system users

According to details, the project carries an estimated cost of 243 million dollars and is expected to generate 861.91 gigawatt-hours of electricity annually.

The project will be completed under the Engineering, Procurement and Construction (EPC) model through a competitive bidding process.
