KARACHI (Dunya News) - The first video has surfaced from an oil tanker seized by pirates off the coast of the Gulf of Aden, showing hostages, including Pakistani crew members, being held aboard the vessel.
According to reports, the footage appears to have been recorded by one of the pirates and shows the captive crew gathered inside a hall on the ship. Some hostages were seen sleeping, while others appeared distressed as they sat quietly.
Pakistani nationals believed to be among those abducted were visible in the video alongside crew members of other nationalities.
Families of the kidnapped Pakistanis living in Karachi said they had identified their loved ones in the footage, heightening concerns over the safety of the hostages.
Relatives have appealed to the government to intensify efforts for the early recovery of the crew and ensure their safe return.
The development comes eight days after the vessel’s hijacking. A day earlier, the Governor of Sindh met families of the abducted crew members and assured them of support.
The emergence of the footage has brought renewed attention to the hostage crisis and increased pressure for swift diplomatic and security efforts.
