PESHAWAR (Dunya News) – The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Assembly unanimously passed a resolution in support of the prime minister’s austerity campaign.

The resolution was moved by PML-N lawmaker Amina Sardar, stating that the austerity drive launched by the prime minister was a positive and timely step.

According to the text, austerity should be adopted not only as a government measure but also as a national attitude and collective responsibility.

The resolution called for ensuring effective and responsible use of energy and resources in government institutions.

It further recommended a gradual reduction in unnecessary government expenditures and privileges, while austerity should also be introduced as part of the curriculum in educational institutions.

The resolution demanded implementation of a one-dish policy at weddings, closure of marriage halls by 10pm and shopping malls by 9pm.

It also called for reducing unnecessary numbers in district administrations. The assembly unanimously approved the resolution during voting.
