PSL 11: Peshawar Zalmi beat Hyderabad Kingsmen in last-ball thriller

KARACHI (Dunya News) - Peshawar Zalmi pulled off a dramatic four-wicket victory over Hyderabad Kingsmen in the 15th match of Pakistan Super League Season 11, chasing down the target on the final ball of the match.

Zalmi successfully reached the 146-run target with six wickets down, sealing the win in a tense finish that went down to the last delivery.

Captain Babar Azam led the chase with a crucial 43-run knock. He was supported by Kusal Mendis (27), Michael Bracewell (25), and Iftikhar Ahmed, who remained unbeaten on 15.

Aamir Jamal also contributed an unbeaten 6 runs to guide the team home. Other contributions came from Mohammad Haris (11) and Farhan Yusuf (15).

For Hyderabad Kingsmen, Saim Ayub took two wickets, while Maheesh Theekshana, Mohammad Ali, Hasan Khan and Hunin Shah claimed one wicket each.

Earlier, Hyderabad Kingsmen were bowled out for 145 in 18.2 overs after being invited to bat.

Kusal Perera top-scored with 58 runs, while captain Marnus Labuschagne made 27.

Contributions from Moaz Sadaqat (17) and Saim Ayub (14) were not enough to build a competitive total, as the rest of the batting lineup failed to reach double figures.

Irfan Khan and Hasan Khan scored 9 runs each, while Sharjeel Khan managed just 2.

Maheesh Theekshana, Hasnain Shah, and Usman Khan were dismissed without scoring.

For Zalmi, Iftikhar Ahmed and Sufiyan Muqeem delivered outstanding bowling performances, taking four wickets each, while Aamir Jamal chipped in with one wicket to restrict the opposition.
