PESHAWAR (Dunya News) - The business community in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa has indicated it will not take part in the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) protest planned for February 8, refusing to shut down markets or businesses.
The Sarhad Chamber of Commerce announced that traders would not support the protest by closing shops, citing already fragile business conditions in the province.
Representatives said the trading community is facing ongoing economic challenges and cannot afford further disruptions.
Traders stated that while they and the people of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa voted for PTI, the party now needs to focus on improving economic conditions rather than calling shutdowns.

They added that PTI should also mobilize its workers in Punjab and Sindh instead of placing the burden solely on KP.
It is worth noting that PTI has announced a wheel-jam strike and business shutdown on May 8, with provincial ministers actively working to make the protest successful.
Provincial leaders, including Meena Khan Afridi, have begun contacting the Sarhad Chamber of Commerce and transporters to seek their support.
