RAWALPINDI (Dunya News) – Security forces have eliminated nine India sponsored terrorists during two operations in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
The Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR) said the operations were conducted in Tank and Lakki Marwat on reported presence of terrorists.
During the conduct of operation in Tank, security forces effectively engaged the terrorists’ location and after an intense fire exchange, seven were killed.
Another intelligence based operation was conducted in Lakki Marwat district. In ensuing fire exchange, two more militants were effectively neutralised by the security forces.
Weapons and ammunition were also recovered from killed Indian sponsored terrorists, who remained actively involved in numerous terrorist activities against the Security Forces, Law Enforcement agencies and target killing of innocent civilians.
“Sanitization operations are being conducted to eliminate any other Indian sponsored kharji found in the area as relentless Counter Terrorism campaign under vision “Azm e Istehkam” (as approved by Federal Apex Committee on National Action Plan) by Security Forces and Law Enforcement Agencies of Pakistan will continue at full pace to wipe out menace of foreign sponsored and supported terrorism from the country,” read ISPR statement.
Earlier this month, security forces conducted two successful operations in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, killing seven terrorists associated with an India-backed militant outfit, the ISPR said on Tuesday.
According to the military’s media wing, six militants were killed during an intelligence-based operation in Mir Ali, North Waziristan. In the second action, carried out in Spinwam on confirmed intelligence, one terrorist was eliminated after a brief exchange of fire.
The group had been involved in multiple attacks on security forces, law enforcement agencies, and the targeted killing of innocent civilians.
