KARACHI (Dunya News): Sindh Governor Kamran Khan Tessori has called for convening an All Parties Conference (APC) to review the flood situation across the country.
Tessori said that the APC should be convened to have a serious discussion after monsoon rains and floods have wreaked havoc in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Punjab and Gilgit-Baltistan. He urged the Prime Minister to invite the heads of all political parties to attend the APC.
He said that solutions must be found to deal with such natural disasters. He stated that there is a need to increase water reservoirs and to make decisions regarding the construction of large dams.
He noted that Pakistan is among the countries most affected by climate change. He assured that people of Sindh stand with the flood victims during this difficult time. The Sindh Governor further stated that traders and citizens of Karachi should come forward to help the victims in KP, GB and Punjab.
