UPPER DIR (Dunya News) - The security forces on Sunday eliminated five terrorists from Fitna-e-Khawarij group in Upper Dir area of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
According to a spokesperson for the Central Police Office (CPO) Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, the operation was launched based on intelligence reports about the presence of the Khawarij group, which was allegedly involved in a recent attack on a police team.
During the operation, one civilian was martyred, while eight police personnel sustained minor injuries.
Of the five militants reported killed, the body of one has been recovered, while search operations continue to locate the others and clear the area.

Meanwhile, KP IG praised the efforts and bravery of the police officers and personnel involved in the targeted operation.
He confirmed that counter-terrorism operations are actively underway in the Upper Dir areas of Doobando, Barikot, Salamkot, and Atandara.
