RAWALPINDI (Dunya News) - A lion entered a house and injured a man after escaping from a zoo in PWD area here on Wednesday.
Having being informed, a team of Wildlife Department scrambled to the area and managed to capture the lion. According to the Wildlife officials, the lion had run away from a zoo.
They said the lion first entered Scheme-III, and then entered PWD area where it attacked a man.
Though escaping of a lion from a zoo may be a rare incident, in recent past several incidents of fleeing of big cats from farmhouses happened in different cities of Pakistan, particularly in Lahore.
Some two months ago, a lion hit a road in Lahore after escaping from a farmhouse and injured a child and his mother when she attempted to rescue him.

A video featuring the attack made rounds on social media, prompting the authorities concerned to take action against the owner of the lion.
The escape of the big cat and its attack stirred a public outcry, who demanded stringent measures to check such attacks in future. Many arrests were made after the incident and many pet lions kept illegally confiscated.
In another incident in Lahore, a lion was killed by a security guard in Taj Pura after it ran away from a cage of a farmhouse.
