Heavy rains forecast across Pakistan

Met Office warns of storms, flooding, and landslides from August 14 to 22.

ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) - The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has issued a nationwide alert, forecasting more rainfall accompanied by strong winds from August 14 through 22.

According to the PMD, widespread rains are expected between August 14 and 17 in various parts of the country, including Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Punjab, Islamabad, and northeastern Balochistan. The department also warned of heavy downpours in Kashmir and Gilgit-Baltistan from August 18 to 21.

Meanwhile, Sindh is likely to experience rain and gusty winds from August 18 to 22, raising concerns over urban flooding in low-lying areas and potential landslides in mountainous regions.

Authorities have urged residents to remain alert and take necessary precautions during the forecast period, especially in vulnerable areas.
