ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) - Jamaat-i-Islami has announced to call off its sit-in in Lahore and cancel the scheduled march to Islamabad.
The announcement was made by senior leaders of Jamaat-i-Islami Maulana Hidayatur Rehman and Liaquat Baloch while addressing a press conference in Islamabad on Friday, alongside Adviser to Prime Minister Rana Sanaullah and Minister of State for Interior Talal Chaudhry.
Speaking on the occasion, Rana Sanaullah said an agreement has been reached with Jamaat-i-Islami leadership under which it is being submitted to the prime minister that a committee should be constituted to identify problems of Balochistan and present proposals for their solution.
He said that the proposed committee will have representation of government and opposition parties of Balochistan, members of Jamaat-i-Islami delegation and federal government and institutions involved in maintaining law and order in the province.

“We all have renewed the pledge today to join hands to devise practical measures for peace in Balochistan,” Sanaullah said.
Meanwhile, Maulana Hidayatur Rehman, head of the Haqq Do Tehreek, said that the movement began its journey from Gwadar on July 25 with an eight-point agenda aimed at highlighting the issues faced by the people of Balochistan.
“We have come to convey our concerns, grievances, and pain. We intended to present the problems of Balochistan’s people before the government,” he said.
He added that the demands have been submitted to the federal government and an understanding has been reached.
