Large gatherings and weapon display banned across the province
QUETTA (Dunya News) – The Balochistan government has imposed Section 144 throughout the province for a period of 15 days in response to growing security concerns.
According to the official notification issued on Friday, a comprehensive ban on public activities has been enforced to prevent potential threats.
Under Section 144, the display of weapons in public, pillion riding on motorcycles, and gatherings of more than five people have been strictly prohibited.
The ban also includes covering the face in public places, a measure authorities say is aimed at preventing anonymity during potential unlawful acts.
The order further extends to vehicular movement, with a complete ban imposed on vehicles equipped with black-tinted windows. The government has stated that tinted glass hampers visibility and could be exploited for illegal purposes during the enforcement period.
Officials have warned that violators of the directive will face strict legal consequences. Law enforcement agencies have been instructed to ensure compliance with immediate effect across all districts of the province.
Security personnel have already begun implementing the directives in several key areas, particularly in Quetta and other sensitive regions. Authorities have appealed to the public to cooperate fully and avoid actions that could lead to legal proceedings.
