By-elections set for August 3 in seven districts of Balochistan

25 candidates would contest the polls for 16 seats

QUETTA (Dunya News) - The by-elections for local bodies will be held on August 3 in seven districts of Balochistan.

According to the Election Commission, polling for the by-elections on reserved seats would take place from 8:00am to 4:00pm. The seven districts of Balochistan are Zhob, Sherani, Loralai, Barkhan, Kalat, Khuzdar, and Sorab.

The ECP sources revealed that 25 candidates would contest the elections for 16 seats. This includes 15 candidates vying for 6 women’s seats, 4 candidates for 2 vacant workers’ seats, 3 candidates for 1 vacant farmers’ seat, and 3 candidates for 7 non-Muslim seats.

A total of 106 general councilors would cast their votes in these elections.
