ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) - The Senate has unanimously passed a resolution condemning a recent honour killing in Balochistan, calling for strict action against those involved in the crime.
The resolution was presented by Senator Sherry Rehman, who stated that the Senate strongly denounces the killing carried out under the guise of honour. She urged that those involved in the tribal council (jirga) responsible for endorsing the act must face the harshest legal consequences.

The resolution emphasises that such crimes must be prevented and that it is the state's constitutional responsibility to ensure the protection of every citizen by the law.
It further demands that all perpetrators be prosecuted under the law, and the government should take immediate and decisive action against all those involved in the incident.
Senator Sherry Rehman also highlighted that such incidents are not confined to Balochistan alone but are occurring across the country. She added that Pakistan People’s Party Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari has condemned the Balochistan incident in strong terms.
