She was the daughter of eminent literary figures Syed Imtiaz Ali Taj and Hijab Imtiaz Ali, the wife of veteran actor Naeem Tahir, and the mother of renowned artists Farhan, Mehran, and Ali Tahir.
Known for her beautiful voice and unmatched vocal expression, Yasmeen Tahir was a pillar of Pakistan’s broadcasting landscape.
Born into a household that was synonymous with literature, theatre, and intellectual depth, Yasmeen upheld her family’s distinguished legacy with quiet dignity and elegance.
Her father, Syed Imtiaz Ali Taj, was a celebrated playwright and author of the iconic drama Anarkali, while her mother, Hijab Imtiaz Ali, was the first Muslim female pilot and a prominent novelist.
Her husband Naeem Tahir is a well-known name in theatre and television, and her sons, particularly Ali Tahir, have followed in her footsteps by making significant contributions to the Pakistani entertainment industry.
