LAHORE (APP):- Punjab Governor Sardar Salim Haider has called the session of the Punjab Assembly on Monday (tomorrow) at 2pm.
In this connection, the Assembly Secretariat issued an official notification.
The meeting will be chaired by Punjab Assembly Speaker Malik Muhammad Ahmad Khan.
The Punjab Assembly two weeks ago had adopted a resolution supporting the 26th Constitutional Amendment by a majority vote.
Punjab Minister for Parliamentary Affairs Mian Mujtaba Shuja-ur-Rehman had moved the resolution stating that the amendment in the constitution is a continuation of the Charter of Democracy.
He had termed the amendment a triumph for the institutions and a victory for the constitution and the parliament.
Opposition Leader Malik Ahmed Khan Buchar had harshly criticised the federal government, alleging that the government had abducted assembly members belonging to the PTI to secure approval for the amendment.
