LAHORE (Dunya News) – The Lahore High Court sought response from the federal government on Monday on a civil miscellaneous petition regarding unannounced electricity loadshedding in the country.
LHC’s Justice Shahid Karim, who presided over the hearing, inquired why unannounced loadshedding was being observed across the country. The court, while issuing notices, sought response from the federal government and other parties about the matter.
The civil miscellaneous petition was filed by the Judicial Activism Panel through advocate Azhar Siddique.
The plea argues that the unabated electricity loadshedding, which is going on in the country without any plausible reason, has been affecting businesses and commercial activities.
The petitioner has requested the court to issue a legal order directing the authorities to address the issue of unannounced power outages in the country.
