PML-N leader Hina Parvez Butt heckled in London

Shireen Mazari, Ahsan Iqbal and others condemned the incident

(Web Desk) – Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) leader Hina Pervaiz Butt was heckled by what she claims a group of PTI people at in London while she was with her son at a public place.

Ms Butt shared the video of the incident on social media while lambasting the PTI supporters and calling them “uncivilised”. She claimed that the PTI supporters used abusive language and hurled bottles at her. She said such uncivilised people were tarnishing the image of the country.

In the video clip, one of the alleged PTI supporters could be heard hurling expletives at the PML-N stalwart in a London street. In a separate video, Hina Parvez Butt can be seen standing a currency exchange shop along with her son, when some people call her “thief”.

The incident has drawn massive criticism from political leaders and others.

Former PTI leader and human rights minister Shireen Mazari “strongly condemned the filthy abuse and attack” against the PML-N leader.

“Strongly condemn the filthy abuse & attack against Hina P Butt in London. No one shd stoop to the gutter level of Kh Asif & those of his ilk who have repeatedly abused PTI women (I was one such target) while PMLN & allied parties' women remained silent or smirked. Criticism is acceptable but abuse of women is always unacceptable,” she wrote on Twitter.

PML-N leader Ahsan Iqbal also slammed the incident, alleging that those who heckled Ms Butt were PTI supporters.

Shaza Fatima Khawaja from the PML-N wrote in a social media post: “There’s a difference between freedom of expression/ peaceful political protest and harassing/ attacking/ stalking people you don’t agree with.

Later, Hina Parvez Butt thanked the people for speaking against the incidents, saying that the matter was not about her but the reputation of Pakistan.
