NA-240: TLP's plea for vote recount rejected
KARACHI (Dunya News) – Tehreek-e-Labbaik Pakistan (TLP) request for recounting of votes in NA-240 by-election was rejected by the returning officer (RO) of the constituency on Friday. The RO Abdul Razzaq, in reply to the petition, said that the complainant claimed the Results Transmission and Presentation (RTS) remained inactive for 30 minutes after the result of 299 polling stations was declared but could not provide any concrete evidence in this regard. In addition, he said that the date of the petition and the original signature of the complainant were also missing and their claim that the RTS system is inactive is also incorrect as there was no malfunction in the system. Whereas only 3 Incidents have been reported but a full inquiry has also been conducted, due to which he is rejecting the request for recount, the RO said.
